josh and jillian- engaged!

Are these two not the cutest?!  All the way from NYC, Jillian surprised Josh for his birthday with a trip to San Diego and an engagement session with me.  I love that!  And even though there were torrential downpours for almost their entire visit, we found some sunshiny goodness at the last minute and had some fun!  Enjoy!  XOXO

Published! Los Angeles Magazine

I'm like a kid on Christmas every time one of my photos is published.  It's a thrill like getting packages in the mail- it never goes away.  One of my photos from the ACE Hotel was published this month in Los Angeles Magazine (covering the "people, lifestyle, culture, entertainment, fashion, art, architecture and news that define Southern California" - with 420,000 readers!).  I subscribed when Lou and I started talking about moving to LA and have been loving it monthly ever since.  What a fantastic welcome to Los Angeles to have a photo published in the magazine the month I moved here!  It's especially great since I'm feeling like an extra tiny fish in a super enormous pond here right now.  YAY!  Here's the photo and a picture of the cover.  XOXO

Manifest Equality

I'm so happy and proud to announce that I will be a participating in the Manifest Equality exhibit coming up in March.  About the exhibit:  "Throughout history artists have lent their creative expression to the ideas and issues that shape life in our communities, our country and our world. The Manifest Equality Gallery gathers together a diverse array of hundreds of the nation’s most talented visual artists under one roof to celebrate that role and join with our gay (LGBT) friends, family members and co-workers to demand full and equal rights for all Americans."  There is an incredible artist lineup!  I'm honored to have been invited to be a part of it, especially grateful for the hard work and dedication of the Manifest Equality team, and hopeful that one day soon all Americans will experience equal rights. Please come to the show!  XOXO

Steve and Kelly, Los Angeles Backyard Wedding Pt.1

Steve and Kelly are the all-American dream couple: sweet, funny, athletic, and of course adorable.  Their backyard wedding was A-MAZ-ING.  And it reminded me how much I adore weddings at private estates. Kelly was the most gracious bride, and Steve the most adoring groom.  Swoon.  Megan of LA Partie Events did such an incredible job on the styling and design.  Every detail was gorgeous.  Head on over to Once Wed to see the full list of amazing talent that made this wedding so beauteous.  Enjoy!  XOXO

i need your help please: identify the amazing guys in this picture!

**EDIT**  They found me!  Thank you interweb.  You did it again.

This is my all time favorite photograph that I've taken.  I know, it's bold statement, but it's true.  I took it at the Sunday Wedding May 31st, 2009 Ace Hotel Palm Springs:  three strangers in what Henri Cartier-Bresson calls "the decisive  moment"*.  Now here's the catch: I have no idea who they are and it's driving me bananas. Your mission: email this photo, post it on your facebook, pass it along to anyone who may or may not know these gentleman (make sure to include my blog address so they can contact me).  I need to find them, stat! A million thank yous for your help with this cause.  XOXO

*'"Photography is not like painting," Cartier-Bresson told the Washington Post in 1957. "There is a creative fraction of a second when you are taking a picture. Your eye must see a composition or an expression that life itself offers you, and you must know with intuition when to click the camera. That is the moment the photographer is creative," he said. "Oop! The Moment! Once you miss it, it is gone forever."' -from Wikipedia
